Rangers have secured the 2023-24 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title, marking their eighth championship triumph. The Enugu-based club clinched the title with a decisive 2-0 victory over Bendel Insurance on Sunday.
The match saw goals from Kenechukwu Agu and Chidiebere Nwobodo, propelling the Flying Antelopes to the top of the league standings with 67 points from 37 games.
Fidelis Ilechukwu’s squad capitalized on the misfortunes of their closest rivals, Remo Stars and Enyimba, who both suffered defeats. Remo Stars were bested 2-1 by Sunshine Stars in the South West derby in Akure, while Enyimba fell to Sporting Lagos with the same scoreline at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan.
This latest victory cements Rangers' status as one of the most successful clubs in Nigerian football history, as they celebrate another milestone in their storied legacy.
