Popular social media critics, Martins Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan has lost an award to notable Guinness World Record chess holder, Tunde Onakoya at the Trendupp Influencers awards 2024.
Gistmania reports that VeryDarkMan and the Guinness World Record-holding chess master competed for an award, along with other notable figures.
The Trendupp Awards is renowned for recognizing influencers, content creators, and brands excelling in leveraging social media across various fields and platforms.
However, in April, Onakoya gained attention by breaking the world record for the longest chess marathon in Times Square, New York City, playing for over 58 hours.
Meanwhile, VeryDarkMan is a vocal opponent of social vices, using his platform to speak out against injustices and advocate for societal change.
Both Tunde Onakoya and VeryDarkMan competed in the highly competitive ‘Force For Social Good’ category at the Trendupp Awards but the former won.
They faced off against prominent figures like Nigeria’s leading health influencer Aproko Doctor, Kokun Foundation’s philanthropic founder Adepeju Olukokun, renowned humanitarian Osita Popcorn, and dance choreographer and humanitarian Seyi Oluyole.
