A video showing the aftermath of a fatal family dispute in Delta State has been shared online.
The video shows the moment after a man, said to be an addict, fatally stabbed his mother with a dagger in Obiaruku, Delta State.
The man allegedly stabbed his mother after she cautioned him against smoking early in the morning.
Afterwards, as neighbours gathered, the suspect, still holding the dagger, is seen looking at his mother's lifeless body in sh0ck as her blood pooled on the floor.
Neighbours, reluctant to enter the compound due to the weapon in the suspect’s hand, urged the man named Samson to throw the dagger away so they could enter the compound and rush his mother to the hospital.
However, the suspect did not comply. He seemed to be in a daze and his body shook as he stood outside in just his briefs, looking at his de@d mother.
At some point in the video, a cry of anguish can be heard coming from inside the house as neighbours wondered who was screaming.
Eyewitnesses have said the voice crying from inside the house is the suspect’s brother, who is a sickle cell warrior.
The Delta State Police Command PRO, SP Bright Edafe, said Samson has been arrested by the police.
