The Nigerian Defence Headquarters has issued a warning that the military may intervene if the ongoing Hunger protests continue to turn violent

Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Christopher Musa, made the statement on Friday, citing concerns over vandalism, looting, and chaos.
He emphasized the need for peaceful protests and warned that offenders would face prosecution.
This warning aligns with earlier statements by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, who mentioned plans to involve the Armed Forces if the situation becomes uncontrollable.
The police chief had discussed this possibility during a Zoom meeting with human rights lawyers and civil society organizations, referencing the 2020 #EndSARS protests as a precedent.
