A video recently obtained by SaharaReporters allegedly depicts Solomon Olaolu Kevin, Senior Special Assistant on Youth to Ondo Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, distributing cash to individuals to incite violence and disrupt ongoing protests in the state.
The footage shows a group of hoodlums, after receiving money from the governor’s aide, chanting “No Protest” and wielding sticks to intimidate and disperse demonstrators. This development comes amidst widespread, peaceful protests across Nigeria under the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria banner, which call for systemic reforms and increased accountability from the government.
Despite the largely peaceful nature of the demonstrations, authorities and security forces have intensified their efforts to suppress the protests. In Abuja, hundreds of protesters were detained on Saturday, while in Yobe State, at least 11 youths were reportedly arrested from their homes.
As the situation continues to evolve, protesters remain steadfast in their demands for improved governance and a brighter future for Nigeria.
