Ondo State Police detectives have identified two suspects in connection with the brutal murder of Olakunbi Adene, a well-known caterer in Akure. The suspects have been named as the personal assistant and driver of the deceased.
Adene, who had recently celebrated her 54th birthday, was found dead in her home on Oda Road in Akure South Local Government Area, just four days after her birthday celebration.
According to homicide detectives, the personal assistant, who is now in police custody, has confessed to the crime and is providing crucial information to aid the investigation. The driver, who is currently on the run, is believed to have supplied the weapon used in the killing.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the two suspects conspired to murder Adene with the intent of stealing the money she received as gifts during her birthday celebration. The police are continuing their efforts to apprehend the driver and bring both suspects to justice.
