Williams Uchemba, a well-known Nigerian actor, recently shared advice directed at women regarding their relationships with men. He urged women to stop asking men for things they cannot afford to buy for themselves. Uchemba emphasized that such demands can create unnecessary pressure on men and suggested that men should be cautious about marrying women who make these types of requests.
He highlighted his own experience with his wife, noting that she only asks for things that the family genuinely needs, rather than focusing on personal desires. This approach, according to Uchemba, allows him to better provide for his wife’s needs without feeling overwhelmed. His advice was aimed at encouraging women to be more considerate and realistic in their expectations from men.
In a video he posted on August 14, Uchemba said:
“There is a mentality that is crippling most women in this generation. When you say there is no husband, this is the reason why. I don’t know why you think you have any business requesting for things from a man that you can never get to afford in your wildest dream even if you work for ten years. It is a spirit and until you deal with it, there are some of you that will end up not getting married because no man will want to put you in their house.”
He continued by criticizing the trend of women making extravagant requests:
“Why are you asking for a GWagon or iPhone 15 when you know that you cannot even afford iPhone 10 with how much you have in your account? It is a spirit of greed. It has so many things to do with some element of ‘Jezebelian spirit’ and until you deal with it, no man will put you in his house.”
Uchemba also suggested that married women should ask their husbands for things in a more appealing way, rather than making outright demands.
