In an unusual turn of events, the Labour Party in Bauchi State secured the highest number of votes in the Bogoro councillorship election held in Lusa B Ward, Bogoro Local Government Area, despite not fielding an official candidate.

Despite this outcome, the Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC) declared Lucy Ahmadu Yusuf of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner. Yusuf, who finished second in the election, is now the newly elected councillor representing Lusa B Ward.

At the collation center in Bogoro, the returning officer, Daniel Gambo, announced that the Labour Party, despite its lack of a candidate, received 2,200 votes. PDP’s Lucy Ahmadu Yusuf closely followed with 2,168 votes. Meanwhile, Mbam Masoyi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured third place with 275 votes.
