Yoruba Nollywood actors Alapini Oosa and Abeni Agbon recently caused a stir online as they condemned internet users for a troubling trend on social media, particularly on TikTok. In a viral video, the veteran actors, known for their roles in traditional-themed movies, were seen laying curses on those who habitually post celebrities' pictures with captions like "RIP" (Rest In Peace) to attract viewers and likes.
This trend, which falsely suggests that these celebrities have passed away, has become increasingly common and has sparked outrage among actors and fans alike.
Alapini Oosa, known for his roles as a traditional priest or Babalawo, and Abeni Agbon, both expressed their frustrations and warned those engaging in such behavior. Their strong words have gained widespread attention, with many supporting their stance against this disturbing practice.
This came as a result of the recent video of some of the Yoruba actors, especially Bukunmi Oluwashina who was said to be off-scene after the movie jagun-jagun that she was starred.
