
Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has allocated lands, 10,000 bags of assorted grains and the sum of N100 million to the floodravaged victims of Gummi Local Government Area of the state.
Governor Lawal announced the donations during a visit to the Emir of Gummi, His Royal Highness, Justice Lawal Hassan, following which he embarked on an assessment tour of the affected communities.
The governor was conducted round the Gummi town to express sympathy with the flooding victims before proceeding to Gayari district to assess the extent of the damage. Governor Lawal expressed deep concern after the assessment of the damage caused by the flooding.
He added that a team of engineers had already surveyed the areas to find a lasting solution. “Today, I am in Gummi Local Government Area to offer my condolences and conduct an on-the-spot assessment of the communities devastated by flooding caused by heavy rainfall last week.”
