An attempt to kill a Police officer by three Shila boys, has been thwarted by the Adamawa Police command.
Hamza Ibrahim, 19, Auwal Kolo, 19, and Mubarak Sadiq, the owner of the tricycle, had hatched a sinister plot to snatch a mobile phone from the unsuspecting officer, who had boarded their tricycle from the Adamawa Unity Bridge to the former APC Secretary in Nasarawo Jimeta, Yola.
However, their plan took a deadly turn when they diverted the tricycle to Ribadu Square, threatening to kill the officer.
Kolo’s attempt to steal the officer’s phone led to a physical altercation, during which the officer was forced to defend himself.
The suspects’ true intention was revealed when they tried to overpower and kill the officer, but their plan was foiled when the officer struck Hamza, the tricycle rider, causing all three to fall and leading to their arrest.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, confirmed the incident, stating that the suspects have confessed to the crime and will face prosecution for their heinous act.
