
A young football player, whose identity remains undisclosed, collapsed on Sunday at Maracana Stadium in Ajegunle, Lagos, following a match that was part of a scouting programme hosted by the Shazam Football Team. The incident occurred at approximately 9:45 a.m., shortly after the game ended.
An eyewitness, who participated in the event but chose to remain anonymous, confirmed the collapse in a message to our correspondent. "The player slumped at Maracana Stadium, Ajegunle after the end of the match of a scouting programme. He was rushed to the hospital," the witness reported.
The event, organized by the Shazam Football Team from Mile 2, was aimed at identifying young talents for potential recruitment, drawing a large crowd of aspiring footballers.
While the player was seen alive but unresponsive in a video captured during his transport to the hospital, his current condition remains unknown, as medical reports from the hospital are still awaited.
