Dr. Nondumiso Nkosi, a 32-year-old doctor employed at Rob Ferreira Hospital in Mpumalanga, South Africa, was fatally shot by unidentified assailants in the parking lot of Virgin Active gym in Riverside, Mbombela, on November 20, 2024. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear as the police continue their investigation.
Her family, represented by Sydney Nkosi, has stated that no further details will be disclosed at this time, emphasizing the need for privacy during this difficult period.
He says the family has requested privacy while dealing with the loss of their loved one.
Provincial police spokesperson Brigadier Donald Mdhluli says Nelspruit police are investigating the shooting.
He adds that the doctor was shot on her way into the gym.
“The victim parked her car and got out. As she was walking towards the gym, a Toyota Starlet drove towards her. One of the assailants got out of the vehicle and shot the woman three times before fleeing the scene. Nothing was stolen from her,” he said.
