The Ogun I Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has intercepted cannabis sativa and Tramadol tablets valued at ₦117,587,405.

The seizures, made between January and November 2024, comprised 7,217.7 kg of cannabis and 362 packs of Tramadol tablets, confiscated at various locations, including Abeokuta, Yewa North, and Imeko Afon.

Customs Area Controller, James Ojo, attributed the operation’s success to credible intelligence and strategic measures, reaffirming the Service’s commitment to curbing drug trafficking and safeguarding public safety.

The contraband was handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation.

Speaking during the handover, Olusegun Adeyeye commended Customs for its proactive efforts in tackling the smuggling of illicit substances, particularly drugs.

He also urged the public to collaborate with security agencies to eradicate such criminal activities.
