
The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested three individuals suspected of involvement in drug trafficking and recovered substances believed to be Indian hemp and other hard drugs.
The arrests occurred during a police raid on December 18, 2024, at a known criminal hideout in Malabu, Fufore Local Government Area, following credible intelligence.
The command’s spokesperson confirmed the operation in a statement released on Friday, December 20, emphasizing the police’s commitment to combating drug-related crimes in the state.
“Acting on credible information, the Adamawa State Police Command raided a criminal hideout in Malabu, resulting in the arrest of three suspects and the recovery of substances suspected to be Indian hemp and hard drugs,” the statement read.
The suspects, identified as Shafiu Musa, Idris Mohammed, and Bashiru Nasiru, are all residents of Malabu District. According to the police, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the illegal drug trade and trafficking on the global black market.
The raid and subsequent arrests highlight the ongoing efforts of the Adamawa State Police Command to curb the proliferation of illicit drugs and ensure public safety.
“The Adamawa State Police Command remains resolute in its mission to maintain the safety and security of residents,” the statement added.
The suspects are expected to face charges as investigations continue. Authorities have reiterated their appeal to the public to provide timely information to aid in the fight against criminal activities in the state.
