The families of Nurudeen Adesiyan and Kehinde Akintunde are appealing for public assistance after the couple was arrested by men believed to be operatives from the Department of State Services (DSS) headquarters in Abuja.

The duo was reportedly apprehended in the early hours of November 29 at Arowosola Quarters, Ajape, Modakeke, Osun State. Since their arrest, the couple has been held incommunicado, leaving their families in distress over their whereabouts.

Boyenle Adesiyan, Nurudeen's elder brother, recounted how his sibling sent him a message at 5 a.m. notifying him of the presence of security personnel at their house. However, subsequent attempts to communicate with him failed.

“Around 6 a.m., my mother called to inform me that the officers had entered our house, taken her phone, and started questioning her about a contact labeled ‘Kehinde 2.’ They later discovered that Kehinde, my brother's fiancée, was with her at the time. Both were arrested along with my mother and taken to Kehinde's residence,” Boyenle narrated.

He alleged that the DSS operatives ransacked Kehinde's house, destroyed property, and confiscated phones before beating the victims. The family members of Kehinde were also briefly detained before being released near a community school, while Kehinde and Nurudeen were driven away.

Boyenle expressed frustration over the lack of information provided by the DSS. “We have visited the DSS office in Ile-Ife twice, but they have refused to disclose where our loved ones are being held or why they were arrested. We are calling on the public to help us find Nurudeen and Kehinde. They are not criminals; they have rights.”

Similarly, Kehinde's elder brother, Gbenga Akintunde, described a harrowing encounter with the DSS officers. “When I asked them why they were arresting my sister and where they were taking her, they threatened to shoot me. They stormed our house, beat everyone, seized phones, and left without providing any explanation,” he said.

Efforts to contact the Osun State DSS command yielded no results, but a source within the agency confirmed to *Sunday PUNCH* that the operation was conducted by personnel from the national headquarters in Abuja.

The families are demanding answers and immediate information about the couple’s location, emphasizing their innocence and the need to respect their rights. Meanwhile, the DSS headquarters in Abuja has yet to provide an official statement on the matter.
