The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a 35-year-old suspect, Modu Kolera, on Wednesday, December 18, in Maiduguri's Custom area, following the discovery of a significant drug haul. Kolera was apprehended in his Volkswagen Golf (DKW 812 AA) with a variety of illegal substances, including 8.5kg of cannabis, 5,000 tramadol pills, 7,500 diazepam tablets, and 14,500 exol pills.
The most concerning item in the seizure was the discovery of 50 litres of a new psychoactive substance known as "suck and die," which has become a growing concern for authorities.
Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA Director of Media and Advocacy, confirmed the arrest on Sunday, emphasizing the agency's continued vigilance in combating drug trafficking and the distribution of harmful substances.
