Renowned Isoko highlife musician Dr. Arube Otor is making headlines as he prepares to marry three women on the same day in Delta State.
A viral flier promoting the upcoming ceremony shows Dr. Arube alongside his soon-to-be wives—Oghenekome, Ewoma, and Oghenekaro—dressed in coordinated traditional attire. All three women hail from Delta State.
The announcement was confirmed by Arube’s foster son, Emperor Efih, who is listed as an RSVP for the event. Efih disclosed that the musician initially planned to wed four women, but one bride-to-be withdrew for personal reasons.
“Arube has been married before,” Efih explained. “About 20 years ago, he had two wives, but one divorced him, leaving just one. To minimize costs, he decided to marry multiple wives at once. While the plan was initially for four, one backed out, leaving three.”
Dr. Arube’s contributions to the Delta music scene have solidified his status as a local legend. With a career spanning over 30 years, he transitioned from being a driver who pursued music part-time to leading his own band, Arube Dance Band, which he established 12 years ago. He has since released more than 10 albums, cementing his place in Isoko highlife music.
The wedding is set to be a major cultural event, celebrating both Arube’s personal milestone and his legacy in Delta’s vibrant music scene.
