Three individuals sustained injuries following a multi-vehicle collision on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway on Tuesday night.
The accident, which occurred at approximately 11:36 pm near the Agbo-Malu axis of the Age-mowo area, involved a Renault trailer, a Toyota Camry, and a Lexus car.
Confirming the incident, Mr. William Manga, Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Badagry, stated that the accident was reported at 11:42 pm, and FRSC personnel arrived on the scene 10 minutes later at 11:52 pm.
According to Manga, the Renault trailer, bearing the number plate BK 672 RB, was traveling from Badagry when it collided with the Toyota Camry, registered as JJJ 574 JP, and another Lexus vehicle without a plate number.
“Five people were involved in the accident, and three sustained varying degrees of injury,” Manga explained. The injured victims were promptly taken to the Lagos State Mobile Clinic for medical attention.
The cause of the accident was attributed to a loss of control and driver inattention.
Manga further assured that the vehicles involved in the crash had been removed from the expressway, helping to clear the scene.
He urged motorists to exercise caution, particularly when driving on the narrow, one-lane expressway. He also appealed to passengers to hold drivers accountable for safe driving practices, including avoiding speeding.
