Tragedy struck in Delta State as Chinagorom Lucy, a young Nigerian woman, was discovered brutally murdered in her residence in Asaba. The shocking incident came to light on January 5, 2025, when colleagues became concerned about her unexplained absence from work.
Efforts to reach Chinagorom by phone proved unsuccessful, prompting one of her coworkers to visit her home. Upon arrival, repeated knocks on her door went unanswered. Peering through a window, the colleague made a grim discovery: Chinagorom’s decomposing body.
Police were immediately alerted and forced entry into the house, where they uncovered a gruesome scene. Blood was splattered throughout the room, and the victim’s finger had been severed. In a further horrific detail, her hair had been torn from her head, with strands scattered across the floor.
Activist Harrison Gwamnishu, who was among the first to report the incident, stated that evidence at the scene indicated signs of torture and a struggle before her death. “This was a brutal killing,” Gwamnishu remarked, underscoring the savagery of the act.
A video circulating on social media shows authorities removing the victim’s body from the residence in a bag. The disturbing footage has sparked widespread outrage and demands for swift justice.
As of now, the identity of the perpetrator(s) remains unknown, and investigations are underway. The police have called for anyone with information that could assist in the case to come forward.
