Traders at Eleyele Market in Ibadan, Oyo State, closed the market on Friday following the tragic death of two individuals in a truck accident earlier this week. The incident occurred on Wednesday when a truck fully loaded with granite lost control and crashed into traders at the roadside, leading to fatalities and several injuries.

In response to the tragedy, market leaders decided to shut down Eleyele Market on Friday, organizing a prayer session to honor the deceased and pray for the safety of the traders. A source close to the market leadership confirmed the closure, stating, "The market was shut down today to organize prayers for the souls of those who lost their lives and to seek divine intervention to prevent future accidents."
Another source added, "Yes, the market has been closed today. It is true that the closure is to honor the victims and pray against any future tragedies."
