
The wife of retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has been kidnapped from her home in Arepo, Ogun State, by a group of heavily armed assailants.
The masked attackers, who fired sporadically during the abduction, seized the victim while she was attempting to enter her residence. They dragged her from her Lexus Jeep and transported her through a swampy area to an undisclosed location.
Confirming the incident, Ogun State Police spokesperson CSP Omolola Odutola stated that immediate action was taken to rescue the victim. "We received reports of the kidnapping and swiftly mobilized our operatives to secure her release," Odutola said.
Efforts to locate the abducted woman are in full swing, with local security forces in the riverine areas, including Baale Warewa and Baale Maaba, assisting in the operation. The State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has been fully briefed, and authorities are utilizing covert operations and digital intelligence to track the kidnappers and rescue the victim unharmed.
In addition to digital intelligence efforts, police teams are combing nearby bush areas as part of ongoing rescue operations. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, with authorities promising a swift response to secure her safe return.
