Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) apprehended two suspects, 25-year-old Usama Adamu and 29-year-old Isah Ibrahim, in Dawanau, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State.

The arrests, made on Friday, January 17, followed an operation that led to the recovery of 7.6 kilograms of skunk, 78 tubes of rubber solution, and 356 bottles of "suck and die," a newly identified psychoactive substance.

According to NDLEA officials, the substances are believed to be part of a growing drug distribution network in the region. The agency warned about the rising prevalence of new psychoactive substances, which pose significant threats to public health and safety.

"This seizure is part of our intensified efforts to disrupt the supply chain of dangerous drugs and protect vulnerable communities," an NDLEA spokesperson stated.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the source of the substances and uncover any larger networks involved in their distribution. The suspects remain in custody and are expected to face prosecution.

The NDLEA urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities as part of a collective effort to curb drug abuse and trafficking.
