Zahra Abubakar, a Nigerian journalist, has sparked debate with her recent statement about polygamy. She asserted that when a Muslim woman wholeheartedly supports her husband in marrying another wife, his love for her will increase.
“If you let your husband marry another wife peacefully as a Muslimah, you’ve given him another reason to love you more,” she wrote in a Facebook post on Saturday.
Her comment has drawn mixed reactions, with some agreeing, citing Islamic teachings on polygamy, while others argue that love should not be conditional on a woman’s acceptance of another wife.
