
Lagos State Police have made significant arrests in the Orile Iganmu area, including the detention of a suspect involved in a deadly incident in Ikoyi.
Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the arrest of Okeke Johnchris, who is accused of murdering 33-year-old William Wisdom on February 5, 2025, at Falomo Square, Ikoyi. The tragic event unfolded after a heated argument between the two men, culminating in Okeke intentionally driving his Lexus saloon car into the victim, causing fatal injuries.
William was rushed to Gbagada General Hospital but later succumbed to his wounds. The police have taken the suspect into custody, and an investigation is ongoing. The deceased's body has been moved to IDH Morgue for an autopsy.
In a separate operation, police operatives from the Orile Iganmu Division arrested four individuals suspected of being involved in traffic robbery on February 7, 2025. The suspects—Kadir Ibrahim, Ifeanyin John, Oduwole Shola, and Rilwan Olajuwon—were apprehended while attempting to rob passengers from a stranded vehicle at Ascon White Sand in the Orile Iganmu area.
The police reiterated their commitment to tackling crime and enhancing public safety through proactive measures. They also warned citizens to remain alert, particularly on congested roads, where traffic robbers often pose as innocent vendors to exploit vulnerable individuals.
The police urged the public to avoid violence and resolve disputes through legal channels, reinforcing their role in ensuring justice and security for all.
