A maternal uncle of controversial Nigerian singer, Portable, has warned Nigerians to beware of a family member, Akeem, whom he claims is spiritually responsible for the singer’s erratic behavior.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the man, who identified himself as Portable’s mother’s brother, accused Akeem of being a troublemaker within the family and the source of the singer’s recent challenges.
According to him, Portable has always supported his family financially and fulfilled his responsibilities, yet Akeem allegedly continues to stir trouble despite the singer’s generosity.
"I am Portable’s mother’s brother. Akeem is a bad person. Don't listen to him—he is a very bad person. Everyone should stay away from him," he declared.
The uncle further alleged that Akeem has been ungrateful despite Portable’s support, including buying him a motorcycle and providing financial assistance.
"If Portable wasn’t famous, wouldn’t you find a way to survive? The motorcycle you are riding—Portable bought it for you. Hasn’t he done enough? Why are you after him?" he questioned.
He also revealed that Portable regularly sends money to family members, adding that he personally withheld ₦200,000 meant for Akeem due to his alleged misdeeds.
His statement comes barely a day after another relative accused Akeem of spiritually influencing Portable’s controversial behavior and pleaded with Nigerians to forgive the singer.
The post quickly went viral, sparking mixed reactions from Nigerians, with many debating the family’s claims and Portable’s ongoing controversies.
