A security outfit in Anambra State has announced plans to arrest women seen in public without wearing bras or panties, a move that has sparked controversy and mixed reactions online.
The announcement, made through a public address system by an official of the security outfit, was captured in a viral video circulating on social media. The man claimed the directive came from the state governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.
He further stated that women wearing only panties in public would also face arrest, though no official government confirmation of the policy has been issued.
The video has since triggered a wave of reactions, with many questioning the legality and enforcement of such a directive, while others criticized the perceived infringement on personal freedoms.
Authorities in Anambra are yet to release an official statement regarding the announcement.
