A young Nigerian woman has celebrated the first anniversary of her survival after battling cancer, a fight that ultimately led to the amputation of her left leg.

Taking to social media platform X, user @bidemi_akins reflected on the life-altering moment of February 16, 2023, when she underwent surgery to remove her leg in a desperate bid to stay alive.

In a heartfelt post, she shared a side-by-side comparison—one image taken shortly after her surgery and another from a recent photoshoot—expressing deep gratitude for a second chance at life.

"One year ago today, I lost my leg to cancer. The enemy’s plan was not just for me to lose my leg, but for me to be buried. But today, I stand as proof that God is not done with me, that His mercy speaks louder than any verdict of the enemy. Thank you, Lord Jesus,” she wrote.

Her testimony of resilience and faith has since gone viral, with social media users pouring in messages of encouragement and admiration for her strength.
