The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 52-year-old man, identified as Harry Collins, for allegedly **impersonating a police officer while fully dressed in a sergeant's uniform.
Collins was apprehended on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at around 2:10 PM during a routine patrol led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police along Long Bridge, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
According to a statement released by police spokesperson Omolola Odutola on Saturday, the suspect failed to provide a credible explanation for his impersonation during interrogation, raising further suspicions about his activities.
*"The suspect was arrested during a reconnaissance patrol after officers noticed his suspicious presence at Long Bridge. Upon questioning at the station, Collins was unable to justify his impersonation, prompting further investigations into his motives and possible criminal connections,"* Odutola stated.
She confirmed that investigations are ongoing and that **Collins will be charged to court once inquiries are concluded**.
Meanwhile, the police have **urged the public to remain vigilant and report any individuals falsely posing as law enforcement officers** to prevent potential criminal activities.
