Celebrated Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi has described 2024 as a traumatic year, revealing details of her health struggles and her husband Banky Wellington’s battle with cancer as she marked her birthday.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, the award-winning actress shared that she endured months of illness due to hyperemesis while pregnant, a condition that left her hospitalized. Amid her health crisis, she also faced the distressing news that her husband needed surgery to remove a cancerous tumor.
Adding to the ordeal, Adesua disclosed that she eventually had to undergo an emergency Caesarean section (CS) to deliver her baby. Expressing gratitude, she acknowledged the efforts of medical professionals in Lagos and Washington, D.C., who provided her with care and support during the challenging period.
Reflecting on the experience, she praised her husband for his unwavering support and resilience. “Banky, I love you to life,” she wrote. She also extended appreciation to friends and well-wishers who stood by her, even without knowing the full extent of her struggles.
Despite the hardships, the actress stated that the year had tested and strengthened her in ways she never imagined. “God has used this season to stretch me and show me that I am capable of much more than I ever realized,” she concluded.
Fans and colleagues have since flooded her social media with messages of love and encouragement, celebrating her strength and perseverance.
