Security operatives in Tsafe Local Government Area have arrested a suspected drug trafficker accused of supplying illicit substances worth millions of naira to terrorists operating in the region.
The arrest, described as a major breakthrough in the fight against insecurity, was confirmed by Tsafe Local Government Chairman, Malam Garba Shehu Fanchers, in a statement shared by security analyst Zagazola Makama on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday night.
Fanchers hailed the arrest as a result of dedicated security efforts and community support, emphasizing the state government’s commitment to tackling criminal networks.
“This success is a testament to the hard work of our security personnel and the prayers of our people. My administration remains committed to protecting lives and property,” he stated.
He reiterated that Governor Dauda Lawal’s government has made security a top priority, with ongoing operations aimed at dismantling terrorist supply chains.
“With your prayers and cooperation, we will defeat terrorism and restore peace to our communities,” he assured.
The council chairman also urged **residents to remain vigilant** and continue supporting security agencies as authorities intensify efforts to curb criminal activities in Zamfara State.
