A recent viral TikTok video has sparked widespread disbelief and discussion, featuring a 76-year-old great-grandmother allegedly discovering she's 12 weeks pregnant.
In the video, shared by her great-granddaughter Miyah, a healthcare professional informs the elderly woman of her pregnancy during a hospital visit.
The great-grandmother, initially hospitalized due to dizziness and suspected blood sugar issues, expresses shock upon hearing the news, especially after denying recent segxwal activity. Miyah mentions that the baby is expected in July and hints at upcoming events like a baby shower, though details about the child's future upbringing remain unclear.
The claim has garnered over 40 million views on TikTok, with many viewers expressing skepticism about the possibility of natural conception at such an advanced age. Gynecological expert Dr. Unsworth has voiced doubts, suggesting that if the pregnancy test is positive, it might indicate other health issues, such as hormone-secreting tumors, rather than an actual pregnancy.
Historically, the oldest verified mother is Erramatti Mangamma from India, who gave birth to twin girls at the age of 73 in 2019 through in-vitro fertilization (IVF).
Given the natural decline in fertility with age, especially post-menopause, natural conception at 76 is exceedingly improbable. Most pregnancies in women of advanced age have been achieved through assisted reproductive technologies like IVF.

While the TikTok video has captivated many, it's essential to approach such extraordinary claims with caution and await further medical verification.
