Investigative journalist David Hundeyin has reacted sharply to a viral video of influencer Diana Eneje displaying large stacks of freshly minted US dollars. The video, which has sparked widespread debate on social media, showed the money still wrapped in "US Federal Reserve" packets, raising questions about the source and circulation of such funds in Nigeria.
Hundeyin, known for his bold commentaries, suggested that the influx of US dollars into Nigeria was once so rampant that even sex workers in Lagos were being paid with mint-condition cash. However, he argued that with stricter financial controls now in place, those funds are no longer as readily available.
Taking to social media, Hundeyin insinuated that such cash might have ties to politicians or NGO-linked figures, hinting that funds meant for critical causes, such as HIV treatment, could be in the hands of these high-profile individuals. He urged those in need of financial aid to trace the money back to its powerful sources rather than seeking government assistance.
