Rev. Yinka Yusuf has issued a strong warning to Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, insisting that the governor must apologize for his alleged remarks against evangelism.
The clergyman, in a recent statement, declared that his next crusade will be held in Anambra, and he is ready to "deal with" Soludo if he fails to retract his comments.
This controversy appears to stem from Governor Soludo’s stance on certain religious gatherings and public evangelism, which has drawn mixed reactions from religious leaders.
Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, had earlier clarified that he has not banned evangelism in the state but is enforcing existing laws against noise pollution.
This clarification came after a video surfaced showing him addressing a street preacher about causing disturbances in a market.
The governor emphasized that his actions were aimed at curbing noise pollution as stipulated by the Anambra State Public Health Law of 2006, which prohibits excessive noise in public places.
He advised that preaching activities be conducted in churches or designated areas to avoid disrupting others' daily activities.
“For governor Soludo to call evangelism noise, he must apologize or I deal with him. Can he say that about Islam?
