Recently, tensions have escalated between Nyesom Wike and Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, a former Niger Delta militant leader.
The conflict intensified following an incident in Rivers State where security forces, allegedly acting on Wike's orders, clashed with members of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) during a disputed event in Abalama community.
The confrontation reportedly resulted in injuries to at least three individuals. Asari-Dokubo condemned the actions, accusing Wike of oppressing the Ijaw people and threatening that any further escalation could lead to severe consequences.
In response to Asari-Dokubo's allegations, the Rivers Restoration Movement criticized his statements, labeling them as baseless and misleading. The group emphasized that such threats have no place in Nigeria's constitutional democracy and reaffirmed their support for lawful governance in Rivers State
