In a decisive move against cult-related activity, the Lagos State Police Command arrested three suspected cultists during a covert gathering in the Elemoro area of Lagos on April 26, 2025.
The suspects—identified as Christopher Amah (28), Bada Olusesi (38), and Magaji Yusuf (34)—were apprehended during a routine patrol after officers received intelligence about a planned cult assembly involving approximately 15 individuals.
Acting swiftly on the tip-off, police operatives stormed the meeting location and succeeded in nabbing three of the suspected cult members, while others reportedly fled the scene.
A subsequent search led to the recovery of two firearms: a defaced Beretta pistol and a locally made gun loaded with a live cartridge. The weapons have been taken into police custody as investigations continue to track down the remaining fugitives.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, emphasized the Command’s uncompromising stance against cultism, warning that criminal elements will find no safe haven in the state. He reaffirmed the police’s commitment to rooting out all forms of organized crime to ensure the safety and security of residents.
