Most nigerian parents raises their children in the black/local way, where they want their children to see them as Almighty, most feared and most adored, but fail to understand and give attention to d them. They tend to hide certain things 4rm them. What is wrong in raising kids like d whites, where there's mutual understandn, love and trust. When the kids r more than just a kid and even a best friend? So i wanna knw how would u prefer to raise ur kids

My take: raise ur kids in love, fear of God and discipline.....be their friends but apply limits.
Don't spare the rod so they wouldn't spoil but don't be abusive with the rod cos when they get used to it, it doesn't correct them any more.

U're quite right my sister.....to most of the children these days, cane speaks louder than mama or papa's voice. @ times u don't need to use it (especially for kids who exhibit high level of intelligence and gentleness) but mere "flashing" it would keep them in check.....
