One of the prominent members of the group, Mr. Rafiu Fadipe, who described the project as laudable, noted that the Light Rail was capable of moving the state into greater economic prosperity if well funded and adequately managed.
He, however, appealed to the state government to carry the people of Badagry along in the scheme of things for the good of the area and in the common interest of the state as a whole.
He recalled that the community had, for a long time in the past, been perceived as stronghold of the opposition and, therefore, was sidelined in terms of development.
Fadipe said, “It will be right and just to consider our community for relevant development at this time. It is a well known fact that Badagry offers great potentials in terms of tourism, agriculture and astute leadership.”
