“I am a billionaire and there is nothing anybody can do about it,” Pastor Adefarasin boasted yesterday as he preached in an N8.5 million a day auditorium at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.
“I have coached many billionaires and you know, the pastor of billionaires is a billionaire,” Adefarasin who was not included among the five richest pastors in Nigeria by a blogger with Forbes, the influential American magazine that keeps a tab on the world’s rich.
The Forbes blogger, Mfonobong Nsehe, had said that after intense research, he established that the official wealth of Bishop David Oyedepo, Chris Oyakhilome, TB Joshua, Matthew Ashimolowo and Chris Okotie, Nigeria’s five richest pastors, is between N31 and 37 billion.
But, TB Joshua of the Synagogue Church Of All Nations has denied the report, saying that he does not even keep a bank account and cannot save billions in the bank while millions are going hungry.
“The preacher of billionaire can only be a billionaire because a monkey cannot give birth to a goat and a goat cannot follow a baboon,” Adefarasin, who is completing a multi-billion naira church in Lekki, said as he adjusted his cute Italian suit.
“I am a preacher. I am a motivational speaker. I am a TV personality. I am a life coach. You can criticise me or slander me in the pages of newspapers but the blessings are in me and there is nothing anyone can do about it,” he said.
Adefarasin, who preached on Phillipians 2:6-14 with the theme ‘Work It Out’, said that when he was still a drug addict in Miami, United States, with a low self esteem, he never imagined that he could financially achieve so much for himself and the ministry.
“I was a nobody. I had a low self esteem but God did it for me. If God can make it for me, he can make it for you,” Adefarasin said amidst boisterous ovations.
To become a billionaire, Christians must simply imagine it, ask and realise that money, blessing and favour are already in them. All they need is to ‘work out’ what ‘God has already worked in’.
“Some of you do not see that you are already billionaires but there is a difference between to create and to unveil. God will simply unveil your billions to you as he did to me,” he said to an elated and expectant congregation.

The Gospel is preached for people to get saved right? Am know wondering when it has become a tool for personal wealth generation!!!! What's more is that there is keen competition for recognition in terms of wealth acquired!!! May God help us.

Why re Nigerians so narrow minded? Why do they always read everything wrongly.. EVEN YOU POSTER!!!
Adefarasin has always been known as a motivational speaker who always try to motivate his congregation... So why is it that Nigerians, esp the poor ones hate to see others who re doing well for themselves.
Ok, would u rather love to hear him say he's a poor man? for crying out loud whatever u confess with ur own mouth has a way of affecting ur future.. People has got to realize that.

Too much follow follow is the only thing killing Nigerians...No one will dare challenge them, if you make any bad comments against these pastors, someone here will challenge you that you're not supose to comment bad things against the son of God...But every body are the sons and duaghters of God, nobody is special period.........

Thank you Ceejay! "Some" 9gerian think head-side down & inside out... If you are rich "they" criticize & if you are poor, you are scorned and derided. True, until "they" wake up and walk out of their slumber it will remain difficult to change their mindset! There is a lot of mental work to do...!

If we must be serious, then i can tell you that GOSPEL is suffering in the hand of preachers cos they have lost sight and shifted the whole attention to wealth, to the extent that some of them would not be o.k. to be respected only as a man of God, if their name is not in the list of wealthy men. Hence the unimaginable height of corruption in the society. Preachers of today are too far away from the untimely message of the gospel as of 1980s and 90s. Crusade for righteousness and good moral as the light of the gospel is now a history of old testament. The righteous people now are the rich who can respond to financial call any time. This is called degeneration and moral decadence in Godly language. That is constituting to, and reflecting on our national problem of 'unbelievable corruption' today. It is in Christianity as well as in Muslemm worship. An ardent musilem worshiper can tell you how it started also in their own side if you meet those who are still in love with the country. Nobody like to be speaking against pastors but some of them are no longer their b/cos of GOD and the GOSPEL, but for their belly alone which is earlier condemned in the bible. They bring shame to what is called ''THE GOSPEL''. And younger generations are in danger of inability to distinguish the gospel message from motivational speaking. And there is fear that there will soon be that problem of separating gospel from politic. I am not generalising that good ones are not still there but they are not easily noticeable.
