It is strange that it is much easier for people, christians inclusive to readily accept and be addressed as sinner, but find it difficult to be called a righteous or a holy man.we tend to forget that God did not create man as a sinner but in His image and likeness (Genesis :!:26) to dominate and rule over other creatures.God's plan for man was short-circuited when man disobeyed God in the garden of Eden. From that moment, man lost the nature of God and took the nature (sin) of their new master, the devil.God who is rich in mercy, even while we were still sinners, sent Christ who came and died so that we might be redeemed/rescued from sin (Romans 5:5-6;Ephesians 2:4-5).

It was in light of the above that the scripture declared in Romans 3: 23 All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.We are very quick to refer to this scripture without understanding the contextual usage. You would note that it said 'All' and not any man in Christ.Consider this scripture in 1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die,so in Christ all will be made alive.Romans 5:16 summarily put just as sin came into the world by one man Adam, even so redemption is available to all men through another,Jesus Christ. This is the bed rock of our believe  and faith in God as contained in 2 Corinthians 5:17 'if any man be in Christ,he is a new creation, old things have passed away, behold all things have become new'.The new creation in Christ is righteous since he now has the nature of God;the original plan God wanted for man.You may ask how, check out Romans 5:17 '...they that have recieved abundance of grace and of the gift of RIGHTEOUSNESS shall reign in life'.If you have recieved Christ, refused to be called a sinner any more because you are the the righteouness of God in Christ Jesus.

Your comment was, "You know just as I do that men prefer being addressed as sinners", and that is simply untrue. Men (and women) don't like being called liars and thieves, for example.

Yes people don't like being addressed as thieves, liars and so on but being addressed as a sinner is the same thing as being called a thief or a liar. They get angry when others call them such names but happily call themselves sinners.Stealing and lying are acts of sin but don't make one a sinner. The mere fact that one steals or lies does not mean that such one is a sinner.Sin is a nature that man took when Adam obeyed the devil and that is what made all men sinners. Now when one accepts Christ, his sins are not covered but are blotted away and he automatically acquires a new nature, the nature of God which is righteousness. As a new creation in Christ, you cannot sin because it is no longer your nature.

It's a moot point anyway - there is no sin.

I beg to disagree with you.Sin do exists. For as long as you are not in Christ, you are sins are not remitted and thus;a sinner. It is believing in Christ and confessing Him as the Lord of your life that translate and transport you from the world of sin to the realm of righteousness.Yes sin is already destroyed but you have to acknowledge, believe and serve the Person that did the job-Jesus-for you to be a partaker of the redemption. There is no condemnation unto them that are in Christ Jesus(Romans8:1).

So your definition of 'sin' is disbelief in your religion?

Cammywhite,if you single out 'disbelief' from all I said to mean sin, then you are up to mischief.Only Christ paid the price of sin (His death at the cross of calvary) thereby redeeming the world from sin.The punishment of sin is death, however, people cannot go to hell because of their sins cos the penalty has been duly paid. However, the only way anyone can benefit or be free from sin is by believing and confessing the One that paid that price,Jesus Christ as his Lord and personal Saviour. This entails learning, knowing His ways and living out His (Christ) kind of life, the life of dominion, victory, reigning and in full control.

Cammywhite if you do acknowledge the truth that Jesus died to redeem the world from sin wherein we all live and are saved by the grace of God in Christ Jesus, then your suggested or alternative topic is more apt.Credence was lend to my position when our Lord Jesus Christ declared in John 14:6 'I am the Way,the Truth and the Life,no man comes to the Father except by Me'.It's of no use shying away from this truth,Jesus is the way to God and to that extent, even when the sins of the world have been wiped away by His death, the full benefit thereof would continue to elude those who do not believe in Him.The point I'd like you to have in mind is that the world right from those who lived before us denied the existence of the true God to their own damnation-the generation of Noah, the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah, the philistines among others. So for this generation,it would not be different if they fail to heed the warnings but it would be a pity.

Well, it's not the truth, and you're question-begging again! Also I have no desire to come to Yahweh, so I don't really care.

If it is not the truth, what then is the truth? The issue about whether you care or not is entirely your decision. You know the good thing is that you have heard about Christ,so what you do with what you have heard is your choice.

People have been asking that for thousands of years, and we never agree; I suppose we never will.

Sanctify them with thy Truth, thy Word is the Truth (John 17:17).The word of God which I have spoken to you is the Truth.John 6:63 is very apt here "...The flesh profits nothing,it is the spirit that give life (quickneth),the words I have spoken to you is spirit and it is Life".Dare to believe the Word.
