According to him, “if they want to prostitute, they should go to brothel and not expose their bodies outside the streets in these areas. Because Victoria Island is a highbrow area, we have lots of expatriates there.”

This is a stupid statement. So if they are in brothel he can go and patronise them.

Govt. should create job and license to pay tax. That will be a nice base for controlling prostitution. Dumping them in the prison may not help matters cos it cannot be life imprisonment nor death. Better concern for the nuisance could be by making them stop living in disguise. Arresting and charging to court alone could not express effective concern to the menace.

Very stupid set of people (the whatever task force) and even a more stupid judge.

I wonder why some people will so mindlessly live a stick that's threatening to remove their eye balls and rather choose to scratch a common mosquito bite on their legs.   Here we have a more serious case of a group of terrorists holding the nation to ransom in the north, and that of our so-called leaders who are busy bringing down the national economy to it's knees with their incessant and continual looting of the national treasury.  yet all the police do is to chase flies.

If the government - both at the states and federal level - had done things right and use those stolen monies for the improvement of Nigerian's lives, and provide jobs for the youths would those ladies ve taken to selling their own bodies to make ends-meat ?  or does the government think they re enjoying what they re doing?

they shud do something abt boko haram not to send prostitutes to jail..............thats not what i want to hear............ Sad Sad Sad Sad

Thank you. Kebella for a sensible response. These ladies should not be in jail.
They should have been fined and released. The police should have explained
the the prostitutes that they were operating in a No-Prostitution Zone and
not to operate there anyone. It is true that Lagos State officials do not want
expatriates to see this shameful side of our country. There are so many young
women selling their bodies for easy nairas. Some of them make enough to live
above the poverty level.
The police need to go after the more serious criminals......kidnappers, rapists,
armed robbers, embezzlers, and others felonies. bGoing after the Boko Haram
terrorists is another good suggestion.

Please folks do not take this response as a support of (and approval for) Prostitution.
I think it degrades women and is a very dangerous lifestyles for these prostitutes.

Thank you, brother. I agree with you that some of these women were/are
victims of cruel life circumstances. Some just do it for easy money.
True.........very many Government officials and politicians are more
deserving of time in Kiri-kiri prison than these prostitutes.
