Worried by the rising cases of violence and tension across the country during elections, the Presidency has concluded plans to send a bill to the National Assembly for a single term of seven years for governors and Presidents. It reasoned that political violence was always caused by the resolve of incumbent governors and president to run for a second tenure of office.
My source gathered that the Presidency would soon send the bill to the National Assembly after the Senate might have concluded the screening and confirmation of ministerial and ambassadorial nominees. It was also learnt that the Presidency was presently putting together another set of nominees for screening and confirmation for appointment as ambassadors and representatives of Nigeria in foreign countries.
Reliable sources close to the Presidency disclosed that the decision on the proposal to reduce the tenure of the governors and President to a single term of seven years was reached between President Goodluck Jonathan and the leadership of the sixth National Assembly with an agreement that it should be one of the first major bills to be sent to the lawmakers after the screening exercise.
It was also gathered that the bill would be part of the input of the Presidency in the next amendment to the constitution, the process of which would begin shortly after the screening. According to the source, “There is a bill from the Presidency which seeks to alter the subsisting provision of the constitution which provides for a second term tenure and replace it with a single term of seven years. hmmmmm......GEJ don come ooo I reserve my comment................

well this propose of the president is some how good but but then it is showen the low percent of democracy being practice in the nation,.that is to say, in a democracy, an encumbent has every right to run for a second time since the law permmitted it but why must it be a war in nigeria if an encumbecy is to run?well i know the nigerian polictics/critics this propose might suffer a lot and a m afraid if it can come to pass

Today God will bear us witness that this country is blessed but the leadership of the PDP wanted to ruin the country. where are the people with the breath of fresh air? I told you Goodluck is a good man but he may not be able to lead the nation now. PDP is too much for him. what is the diffrent between Obasanjo's third term and this now? Is this are the developmental projects we need now? Oga Jo i beg no try am o! you will meet a very terible resistance from the south west, the far northern commoners will not accept it and you know them. the east cannot be trusted now that your party is losing grip there and above all dont think they will support your peoples' secission plan because they did not enjoy such from you people during Biafra stuf. And if it works out the south south opposition will ignite a problem. Begin good governace and stop toying with naked wire. my prayer is God will help you but dont forget that heaven help those who help themselves.

nonsense , thats how the OBASANJO atarted his failed THIRD TERM agenda, he is not even sure of his tenure in this fresh regime in the widely rigged election in his favoured in what they regards as do or die, however the court of law will delibrate on that with more than enough evidences already tendered before it on this very matter. if he is very serious , let them disolved the whole system now and apoints a caretakers in place pending the result of a fresh elections to test his popularity . RUBBISH
