How many so-called date rapes are actually cases of morning-after regrets? I’m not saying that date rape doesn’t occur or is in any way excusable; for a guy to force himself on anyone at any time is absolutely wrong. But girls who put themselves in risky situations need to take responsibility for themselves and their actions. Drinking and the heady excitement of wild partying leads to a loss of inhibitions for both guys and girls. When an already horny guy, whether drunk or not, is given what he thinks is the go-ahead by his date, it is unreasonable to expect him to resist those signals. Guys and girls alike must take responsibility and face the consequences for driving while intoxicated, but it’s somehow never considered the girl’s fault when we’re talking about hooking up while drunk. This I know we all think is insulting. Someone read a statistic on MySpace recently that said that 27 percent of high school girls who are virgins before prom night lose their virginity that night. Knowing this, a girl should be smart enough to know her limits. What do you guys have to say...
