These journalists could mislead people if care if not taking. Are they trying to tell us here that according to their own Bible paying of Tithe is wrong? It is not my business to follow up what the Tithe I pay in the Church is being used for. Trust me a true Christian is happy fulfilling God's commandment and doesn't have time for gossiping about what the money is being used for. More so 95% of people that complain about accumulation of Tithe and Offerings in the Church are those who don't even pay at all, those who pay regularly  have their reason behind doing so and surely they are getting their reward which makes them to want to do better next time.

People should leave things they are incapacitated to solve rather than creating more problems and face their normal responsibilities so that we could move forward in life. Personally I am not based in Nigeria and the Country I am, I worship in a purely British Church but I realize each time the issue of Tithe is being raised it has never been  a negotiable obligation because this are just a normal Christians fundamentals and no one gives himself/herself unnecessary headache about what it's being used for (of course a faithful Christian will never do that).

I just wanna appeal to all these journalists not to mislead people in the name of criticism and making stories. Thank you!

Wow, I'm shocked to read the majority of the comments on this particular topic, I'm a Nigerian but I have lived in Canada for 22 years and it is disheartening to see what Nigeria has come to...First and foremost, Nigerian's need to wake up and stop looking like fools.  Does everyone see the imbalance in this story, the majority of the congregation left on foot and the so call man of God, (Pastor) was riding out in a Hummer.  If everyone in Nigeria becomes Pastor who is left to be members of the congregation also I want to know who monitors these churches, either way, that responsible body will probably overlook all the fraud after their pockets are filled.  Nigeria has all the potential to be a great well respected country but you have the system in place to suppress all its potential.  Like Bob Marley, "Emancipate yourself from mental slavery" this is mental they have suppressed all the mass's mind to believe the only way out is to continue to pay your tithe and all your problems shall be solved...excuse my language but that is BUUUULLLLLLSSSHHHIIITTT!!!!!!, My husband father is a pastor he says all members of the congregation must receive the same financial report that is sent to the ministry at the end of the year, furthermore, you are provided with a receipt by the church at the end of the year that you send with your tax and guess what you get tax relief for your church contribution in Canada.  So if you ask me the system in Nigeria is fraud these churches are barely heard up to any responsibility...I say take your 10% find a non-charitable organization and donate at least you know your money is going to be use responsible or for some good, instead to add to the pastor's fleet of cars.

Percywn: Sorry for the aggravation caused u by pals' comments. There is no doubt u are one of them - peradventure, his PRO. Just look at yourself, if u know the history of christianity in Africa, u would come to Naijapals to confess all your bad stewardship to misleading gospels of the bad pastors.

Every comment that disagrees with the practices and lifestyle of your pastor was supported by references to God's Words. I would have loved to hear u, since you have chosen yourself to be his spokesman, refute the quoted scriptures than mere sentiments to blindfold people some more. For your information, nobody cares how u feel or think - just accept it that Sign Fireman is exposed like other bad eggs in the church. Perhaps you need to refresh yourself of what christianity is - followers and believers of Christ's teachings, means "Christ-like".  In what ways does this manfire show the Christ in him - as the light that suppose to shine so people would see the good work in him and glorify his father in Heaven? Please don't be equally yoked with evil and manipulative business.

NAIJAPALS, PLEASE MIND THE KIND OF NEWS YOU PLACE HERE, YOU WOULDNT MAKE MONEY FROM THIS INSULT YOU GIVE TO PASTORS, IS VERY WRONG TOTALLY. IS SO EMBARRASSING AND WE ALL ARE NIGERIANS WHAT THE WHITE WILL NOT DO TO OUR FELLOW NIGERIANS BUT THATS WHAT NIGERIANS WILL DO TO NIGERIANS LIKE THEM. THESE ARE GOD SERVANTS. IT IS GODS LAW TO PAY OR GIVE SEEDS HE SAYS LET IT NOT CEASE. LEARN TO GIVE THEN YOU WILL SEE THE CHANGES, THOSE PEOPLE WERE NOT FORCED TO GIVE, THEY KNOW WHAT THEY GET IN  MILLIONS FOLD. THE MORE YOU BRING FAKE NEWS ABOUT PASTORS HERE THE MORE THE CHURCH OF THE MOST HIGH WILL GROW AND INCREASE, YOU ARE NOT EVEN AFRAID TALKING BADS THINGS ABOUT PEOPLE LIKE DAIS...BRING BAD LUCK IF U DONT KNOW. MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON YOU. AND READ YOUR BIBLE MORE. I SORRY FOR THE PEOPLE YOU ARE DECEIVING WITH THIS AND WILL JOIN YOU IN INSULTIN THE CHURCH OF GOD. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

Thank you for your kind word. I really appreciate your sincererity of mind. God will continue to bless you.
But I am personally against the word the pastor used on Jesus Christ. That he, (Jesus Christ) was a rich man and he had an accountant (Judea Isscariot). If all pastors or prophets will serve God and obey God's dotrine deligently, I don't think Jesus Christ will warn of false prophets. He also said that it will be more easier for a head of a camel to go through a hole of a niddle than a rich man to enter into the kingdom of heaven. That is exactly what we are seeing today.
Paying Tithe becoming one of the measures people used to scramble people's wealth and enrich or engineer their kleptomania desire. Actaully, paying tithe was an order and principle in the old testament teachings. There is never a place in new testament where tithe was paid to Church. Jesus came to show us example. Although giving is very important in the service of God, in other to carry out the work of christianity and help the poor, but we should not take the habit of tithe as a principle. If not, the woman in the bible whom Jesus  said he gave the highest offering didn't followed the dotrine of tithe. If not, she would have only be given one tenth of what she had. In other words, giving has no limitations. Actually, Churches today are taking a different dimension. we heard where poeple paid for prayers request, people buy exorbitant gifts to pastors because God answered their payers. But a true man of God will reject such gifts as did prophet Elisha in the Bible in order for the name of God Almighty to be glorified, instead they collect those gifts and even ask for more. The eloquent lecture from Pastor Fireman to his pastors was a mere fraud, saying that "God is a game" and he further explain that you must have to convince people and let them have answers to their solutions, in other words, they will come for thanksgiving and show their appreciations. The bible says that narrow is the way that lead to enternity and broad is the way that lead to destructions. Sometimes, it is almost becoming very expensive serving God than worship idols or man made gods the way people that called themselves men of God turn churches to, as many poeple would prefare stay at home at church services because they don't have money for tithe and offerings or simply won't like repeating same dress to the Church. Churches have even becoming a house of trade, fashion parade, "a discoteca arena"  etc... Beware of churches that maily preach on wealth and miracles not only in Nigeria, but throughout the world!

Nigeria will never get anywhere if they keep on believing this fake pastors. If Nigeria were US, all this fake pastors would've been in jail by now. We're here talking about the politicians everyday but all these believers are worst than the politicians bcoz u've been brain washed by all these pastors, acting like mumu zombies. By now Nigeria suppose to be the richest country in the world bcoz of the way this pastors ask them to drop their 10% n then they will make another 20 to 30 % to their income. When u give out money or anything to all these pastors n expecting to be rich the nxt day or God will answer ur prayer by uploading a mirracle on u, it will never happen. If u're looking for a place to donate ur 10% every month or weeks, check any charitable organization n do so. Or look people around u that needs help, believe me, God will be there for u. God doesnt need ur money through pastors, how many people have u made to laugh with u the way u have been making pastors laugh. Look at Bill Gate, he told his kids that his money will be going to Africa for the needing ones n he still one of the richest men in the world today. As soon as u stop believing that u will be rich when u drop ur 10% of ur income according to all this fake pastor, them u'll see a mirracle in ur life. Americans dont believe in all this fake pastors n thats why they have one millionaire making everyday.
