ZIMBABWE--Police in Gweru have arrested a self-styled prophet after he ordered 2 women to strip naked and bath in milk, before taking off his own clothes to join in the action.
Passers-by effected a citizen’s arrest after noticing the bizarre act in an open area in Gweru's Mkoba 9 area last week.
According to Midlands Province police spokesperson Inspector Patrick Chademana, the women Abigail Churu, 21, and Madleene Kuchinani, 19, of Thornhill Airbase in Gweru approached "prophet" Ezekiel Mutengwende, 61, of Mkoba high density suburb whom they wanted to cleanse evil spirits and bad luck.
Mutengwende, police allege, took the two ladies to an open area near Matinunura Cemetery in Mkoba 9 suburb at around 9am where he ordered them to remove their clothes.
He poured milk mixed with salt in a dish and asked the women to bath while he watched.
The prophet later took off his own clothes and joined the spiritual bath but the trio could not finish their ritual after three passers-by noticed the unusual scenario and initiated a citizen's arrest.
