Blackburn Rovers and out of favour Super Eagles striker, Yakubu Aiyebeni has given Jude Aneke a cash gift of $1,000.
He also gave a pair of boots to the Nigeria Premier League hotshot, who set a new record in the league as the league's highest goal scorer in a single season. Aneke, who plies his trade for Kaduna United, scored a record 20 goals this past season.
In doing so, he consigned the 18-goal mark set by Ahmed Musa the previous season, and a 17-goal record set by Ishaya Jatau in 1990 to history books.
‘The Yak’ himself was also a top scorer in the 1999 season for Julius Berger of Lagos with 9 goals and has taken this step to encourage players who play in the domestic league.
Aneke who made his full international debut for Nigeria on has been included in the squad of the Nigeria on Tuesday against Zambia has been included in the Olympc team for next week’s final Olympic qualifying tournament in Morocco.
