Many Feared Dead In Petrol Tanker Fire Incident In Adamawa

Many people were feared dead with several others seriously injured when a petrol tanker caught fire on Sunday evening at Ganigaku village in Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa.

 An eyewitness, who identifies himself simply as Baba, told newsmen that the incident occurred when the driver of the tanker lost control and the vehicle capsised spilling petrol.

“Some people were scooping fuel when it caught fire and many of them were burnt to death while others were seriously injured.”

 Baba also said that some houses in the village were affected by the incident.

When contacted, the Adamawa command public relation officer, ASP Nemuel Yoila, confirmed the accident but said he had yet to get details of the casualties.
