Four persons, including a couple were in the early hours of yesterday electrocuted in Kaduna State. Daily Sun gathered that the incident occurred when a high tension cable of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) fell on the distribution wire, ignited it and trapped the people in their rooms after a heavy rainstorm in the areas.
The incident, which happened in Manchok town in Kaura Local Government Area of the state was said to have also burnt property worth thousands of naira in some houses in the area.
Those killed by the electrocution included Isaac Jatau, Kato Skip, Mr. and Mrs. Titus Maiturare. It was gathered that Mrs. Maiturare died in an attempt to rescue her husband, Titus, who was trapped by the burning cable wire in their room. The Chairperson of Kaura Local Government, Mrs. Florence Aya, confirmed the incident on phone, saying the dead had been deposited at the Kafanchan General Hospital. However, attempts to reach the PHCN for comment on the electrocution proved abortive as several phone calls to their Kaduna office did not yield any response.

The power sector (NEPA) is busy inflicting too many pains on the people. No power or destructive power. My heart goes to those victims, rest in the Lord.
