"Free Wi-Fi Now Available At Lagos & Abuja Airports" - Minister Festus Keyamo

Air passengers traveling through Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA) in Abuja can now enjoy free Wi-Fi services, according to information obtained by Vanguard.

Mr. Tunde Moshood, Special Assistant to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, confirmed the new development on Sunday. He also indicated that plans are underway to extend free Wi-Fi services to other airports across the country, aligning with Minister Festus Keyamo's third agenda to enhance airport infrastructure.

In an interview with Vanguard, Moshood stated, “Both local and international flyers can now enjoy free Wi-Fi in Lagos and Abuja at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and Murtala Muhammed International Airport (Terminal 1 & Terminal 2). Stay connected, surf the web, and make your journey smoother. Look for the NCC Free Airport Wi-Fi and get connected. Your life does not have to pause while at the airport. Use the Wi-Fi to enjoy all your latest music and download your favorite Netflix programs.”

Moshood highlighted that other airports are in line to receive the same service, in accordance with the Minister’s agenda to improve infrastructure across all airports and the aviation industry as a whole.

Previously, Minister Keyamo attributed the absence of airport Wi-Fi to bureaucratic challenges between the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA). He resolved these issues by reallocating Wi-Fi provision responsibilities to NAMA.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Communication, Keyamo is working to ensure imminent access to complimentary Wi-Fi at airports. Discussions are also underway with international firms to provide in-flight Wi-Fi, aiming to meet global aviation standards and enhance passenger connectivity during flights.
