A Petty Officer (PO) in the Nigerian Navy, identified as M Nasiru, has faced dismissal from service following allegations of theft.

As reported by a military signal obtained by *SaharaReporters*, the dismissed officer stands accused of stealing various items from a retired Naval rating who generously provided accommodation for him and his family in Lokoja, Kogi State.

The dismissal, according to military sources, aligns with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution as amended, the Armed Forces Act (Rules of Procedure) 1972, and other relevant laws.

The signal outlined the items allegedly stolen, including 30 pieces of wrappers and 3 veils, a Maxi generator, and 40 empty gallons of 25 liters, all valued at 600,000 Naira.

The theft occurred at the residence of Mrs. Jumai Idris, who had offered free accommodation to Nasiru and his family in her three-bedroom flat in Lokoja. Mrs. Idris, a retired rating currently working in Abuja, discovered the missing items upon her return. Efforts to contact Nasiru proved futile, leading her to report the incident to naval authorities in hopes of recovering her belongings.

This incident follows closely after the dismissal of Lance Corporal Jonah Comfort, a female soldier accused of stealing gold jewelry worth N35 million from the wife of an army general. Such cases highlight the military's commitment to maintaining discipline and integrity within its ranks.

while reading, I didnt want to jump to a conclusion that a woman is involved! Why will you offer him an accommodation when he and his family should have theirs? God is watching.
